Affinity Groups

Come hang out with us in the youth center Sunday afternoons! Affinity groups are starting up this Sunday (November 9) and I know you’re probably asking, “What is an affinity group anyways?” Affinity groups offer Jr. and Sr. high teens to connect with one another on a similar interest. Different groups will be running Sunday afternoons and each will have a targeted interest. Interest topics include art, photography, basketball, and lots more. A comprehensive list of groups is listed below. This is a great opportunity for teens to get to know one another better while pursuing the interests they love. Remember to contact the group leader for more information and to sign up.

“Going Loopy”
Going Loopy is for anyone who has or thinks they might have a passion for crocheting! All skill levels are welcome. Come with a hook or two and some yarn, and we’ll see what we can create out of it. Hopefully we can enjoy the pleasant company, be comfortable, and improve our crochet skills all at the same time! For more information or to join this group, please contact Emily Guy at francis.emily.guy@googlemail.com

“Cooking When Mom’s Away”
When Mom’s away do you just reach for Kraft Dinner? Come join us Sundays as we learn some kitchen basics. In this “Cooking 101” group we’ll learn some tips and tricks to make quick and tasty food. For more information or to join this group, please contact Gill Hicks at gillhicks62@gmail.com

Come create, share your talent and appreciate others. For more information or to join this group contact Kathleen Polson at kapolson@shaw.ca

“Sent with Love”
This Christmas season why send cards that are un-original, come in packs of 100, that people likely will get multiples of. Instead express your creativity and originality by sending your own custom made cards this year. Join us as we learn techniques in card making and decorating and be original this Christmas season. For more information or to join this group, please contact Heidi Prins at heidi_prins27@hotmail.com

“Reflections”
If you’re interested in capturing the world around you through photos, come join us! We will be learning some basics on operating cameras, as well as techniques for taking eye catching photos. Capture God’s creation with us! For more information or to join this group, please contact Katie Higgins (sorry no email available).

“The Buzzer”
Come for some drop-in basketball in the new youth center. Show off your slam dunks and fancy footwork, while rubbing shoulders with people who share the love of the game. For more information or to join this group, contact Pastor Jordan at JordanC@crossroadschurch.ca
