Leaving a Legacy Through Dance

The Legacy One dance crew joined our youth last week for an evening full of hip-hop, dancing, slam poetry and DJing. The lights, set, costumes and dance moves may have been impressive, but the message they spoke is what will leave behind a legacy.

The crew challenged teens to be themselves and to use the voices that God gave them. We all have different talents, different quirks and unique lives, but we have one thing in common… we all have a story to tell. Each and every one of us has a story, and these stories are valuable. What story is the world watching unfold when they look at your life?

Identity was a big topic that was touched on as well. For teenagers especially, it can be tough trying to figure out who you are in this big world, but who does God say you are? Loved. Valued. Accepted. Beautiful. There’s just 4 to name a few. When our identity is rooted in Christ, we have the opportunity to flourish in being who we were created to be.

With the talents that God has given us, what will be the message we speak to the world? What will be our legacy?
