“Jesus Scrubbed Feet. We Scrub Toilets.”
A little army of 56ers and their parents spent 38 hours last night (one hour each times 38 hard workers) washing walls, windows, sinks, stairs, kitchens, storage and board rooms at the Women’s Outreach Centre. The workers there were blown away by the giant blessing. They thanked us for the shoes sent earlier this fall as well, so we wanted to pass that on to you too. Praise Jesus!
Our next hour was spent playing games and sharing snacks in the 56er room. We also spent a few minutes planning our next service project, which will be collecting purses, backpacks and supplies (everything from toothbrushes and lip gloss to socks and packs of gum), to be distributed to those in need in February. Feel free to forward any of these items you may have. They will be collected in the 56er room upstairs. What a great group of kids and parents too. Thank you, families, for taking time out of your already busy schedules, to model servanthood.
Then the King will say, ‘I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me – you did it to me.’ Matthew 26:40 (The Message)
