Being His Hands
Our grade 9 leadership team hit the streets last Saturday to spread God’s love to some of our neighbors living downtown. It was an awesome experience to be able to partner with Potter’s Hands and serve 130 people breakfast for the day. Scrambling eggs, browning toast & cutting fruit were just some of the tasks they were assigned, but the real meaningful moments weren’t planned at all. In regards to talking with the people we met one of the students said, “Their feelings just needed to be shared with someone who was willing to talk to them. I got to be that person”. It was beautiful to watch these teens as they asked questions, and genuinely interacted with strangers who by the end of the morning had become friends.
“When I first got down there I was really nervous, I thought it’d be different. As soon as I walked in the door there was tons of people and I looked at them and my heart burst. They were so sad but when we gave them food their faces lit up.” -Bailey (Grade 9)
