Bulls, Tunes & Testimonies

Bulls, tunes and testimonies… what do these three things have in common? Youth of course! It was a packed night and the junior highs were buzzing as we introduced them to our new friend, the bull! And let me tell you, bull riding is not for the faint in heart!

Our brave teenagers took on the bull, and while some lasted longer than others, not a single person was able to withstand the wrath of the fierce Crossroads bull!

To top off the night we had our junior high worship team lead us all in some songs they had prepared. This year we have the largest worship team we have ever had. Last week alone, there were 14 teenagers on the stage! Our teens sure are talented! What a blessing to praise God together!

During the talk time we heard from some of our junior high leaders who had the opportunity to go to the Greek island of Lesvos to do some work with refugees there. Our leaders shared their experiences with us and it was great to hear about their adventures overseas. We also watched a video that really put the trip into perspective, please enjoy the same video by following the link: https://youtu.be/6kjw1ztRu3Q  .

I was one of the young adults blessed to be part of the trip to Lesvos! As great as the trip was, for me the most exciting work has actually happened right here in Red Deer since I’ve been home! I’ve had the privilege of getting to know many Syrian families who are relocating to our city. Getting to know these families has forever changed my life. If you are interested in befriending a family that’s new to Red Deer, please contact me! I can assure you that your input in their lives makes an eternal difference.

I am also collecting children’s bikes for the kids. If your teen has outgrown an old bicycle from childhood, I know the perfect new home for it! Every time I visit, the children ask if I have found them a bicycle yet, they are relentless! That is why I can assure you, they will love and care for their new wheels!
